ORIGIN STORY: THE PANINARO

THE SANDWICH BAR SOCIETY.

If you trace the DNA of the modern "Casual" aesthetic, half of it comes from the British terrace, but the other half.. The bright colours, the technical fabrics, the obsession with labels comes from Milan in 1982.

They were called the Paninaro.

Named after the Al Panino sandwich bar where they congregated, these were the first generation of Italian youth to reject politics in favour of consumption. While their parents debated communism, the Paninaro were obsessing over Timberland boots, Levi’s 501s, and brightly coloured down jackets by Moncler.

THE CROSSOVER It was a cultural accident. When British fans travelled to Italy for European away days, they saw these wealthy Italian teenagers wearing brands that didn't exist in the UK. They saw the "Look," but they stripped away the preppy Italian vibe and applied a harder, working-class edge.

The C.P. Company jacket wasn't just a fashion statement anymore; it was armour against the British weather and the opposition.

Milano 84 is the bridge between these two worlds. We are recalibrating the
